THE WHOLE SCHOOL GOES WILD FOR THE DAY

Working with Neil Griffin from Wildlife Friendly Otley, the school’s Global Champions committee and teacher Vicki Binks devised a programme to focus students from Nursery to Year 6 on the delights of nature. The “Champs” wanted the day to feature activities that were scientific, creative and supportive of local wildlife. Neil was not the only visitor to school. Catherine Mason and a colleague from the Yorkshire Dales River Trust set up in the bungalow, giving the children chance to study creatures found in the River Wharfe in Otley that morning. Diane Cook came from the Prickly Pigs Rescue Centre to teach the children more about hedgehogs.

All Saints have got a brilliant team of Global Champions, made up of children from across the Year Groups. When WFO gave the school some wildlife equipment, that we bought with money from Lush, the Champions did us this fab thank you card.
